Ever since I saw photos of Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge (a.k.a. Princess Kate to us simpletons), step out in those classic nude L.K. Bennett London pumps I flipped for this ultra modern and feminine brand of shoes, handbags and clothing. One of the most popular designer brands in Europe, L.K. Bennett London is quickly storming the United States to keep up with the insatiable demand of style-savvy American women. Their latest debut…a stunning new boutique at Beverly Center in Los Angeles (with a highly anticipated opening party that I’m excited to be hosting tonight) right near Prada, Dolce & Gabbana, and Louis Vuitton. At last, we can finally get our hands on this must-have line. I’m loving way too many of their shoes so let me focus on those for now (I’ll get to the handbags and shoes next time): The Palma Patent Leather Strappy Sandal in Clay (this color has “wow” written all over it), Dahlia Printed Criss-Cross Sandal (double whammy – flirty and feminine), Pacific Patent Leather Bow Slingback in Blush (make the Ladies Who Lunch jealous with these), Orchid Embroidered Leather Sandal designed by London-based style icon Caroline Issa (the removable pom-poms alone!), and of course the royal favorite – Sledge Patent Leather Heel (wear these with anything). What makes me smile even more is that these shoes are made well and they wear well, which means they’ll last. And, for a coveted luxury brand they’re priced right too (an average of $350 a pair)… now that’s what you call living happily ever after!
It’s only in the last year or so that I’ve truly taken the plunge and dabbled with wearing flats. Have always been a heel or wedge kinda girl. Challenge was I couldn’t find any flats that were truly comfortable. The different styles I tried either dug a welt into the back of my heel (due to the popular elastic backing that clearly doesn’t work for me) or gave my toes quite a beating. Things changed when I slipped into these flats by Chloe. First of all, I fell hard for the flirty and feminine scalloped edge. And finally, at long last, these babies are comfortable! Must be the buttery soft leather (and fine craftsmanship, of course). Starting at $450.00 a pop they’re an investment, but after a several year hunt for cute, cozy, quality flats (and many battered piggys later), I’m completely at peace with it. Plus, I also found this eye-catching scalloped style by J. Crew for $158.00. They’re not quite as comfy-cozy as the Chloe but they’re comfy enough! And I’m smitten with the fresh color combo and mix of suede with a touch of patent leather on the trim. Smiles all around!

If you haven’t yet indulged in Brandy Melville I highly recommend you get crackin! They have a great website and stores are popping up all over. This has become my T-Shirt mecca – everything is super soft, super cozy and most of the T’s hang just right – the style is sexy + casual. Perfect, right?! When worn, the more loose-fitting shirts have a nice flow to them and they don’t play up the area where we may have some extra lovin’ – the midsection/muffin top. The line is produced in Italy so the fabrics are that European lightweight goodness. For this reason, I highly recommend washing and drying on the delicate cycle. I even do the hang-dry thing, then pop ’em into the drier for a few minutes to soften them up. Because they’re so light and priced so right (all of the T’s are pretty much under 30 clams – another reason I love this place), I found that holes pop up after after a bunch of washes on the more rigorous regular cycle; yet another reason I stick with the gentle wash. Brandy Melville also offers dresses, accessories, tanks, undergarments, and a slew of other treasures I promise you’ll love. xoxo
Most of us sleep an average of 6-9 hours a night and that’s a pretty good chunk of the day. Given the amount of time we spend counting sheep it’s only right that our bedding be ultra soft and sumptuous. Personally, I sleep better and more soundly when I’m nestled in the coziest of sheets. And, nothing beats Paisley Label by Kerry Cassill. Made with whispery light Indian fabrics, Kerry has developed a luxurious line of boho chic cotton bedding and accessories for the home (she designs clothes too). You’ll find a wide variety of prints – everything from bold and colorful like Indigo Seaglass Watercolor (pictured above) and Multi Stripe, to something more subtle ala Waterlily (pictured above) and Faded Blue Hawaii. For those who want to keep things simple there’s Classic White Hand Applique. What’s fun about Kerry’s line is that you can get playful by mixing and matching different prints to create your own unique look (see the bed above). Or just pepper in pieces of her collection – pillowcases and/or a flat sheet to punch up your current bedding. Again, they’re lightweight so I wash and dry them on the gentle cycle. While the line is mostly feminine, there are a couple of cool prints guys will dig too, including: Taupe Zig Zag. And don’t forget dudes, girls appreciate nice sheets so this could score you extra points. My dreams are even sweeter resting in between these cloud-like goodies. Hope yours are too…

When I stumbled upon SeaVees footwear I immediately knew I had just found the go-to shoe for every guy I know. The company motto is Authentic California and that says it all – these stylish kicks are definitely the epitome of cool, casual chic. Plus, they’re insanely comfortable – bingo! I know this because they make shoes for women too (thank you) and I have a hard time taking them off, especially the Baja Slip On in Tapestry (a fun blue shade to jazz up any cozy look). Plus, these guys know craftsmanship – the shoes are made really well. I’m into the Army Issue Low Flannel in Military Olive for the gents – they work with jeans of course, and look darn cute when worn with a dressier pant and a button down. Their boots are not to be missed either. Quality + Cool = Love.
