Said it many times before… I’m a lipgloss lover. And, what’s really tickling my fancy right now is Maybelline’s newest line, Color Elixir by Color Sensational. This gloss is ultra luxe all around – from the clever tube design to the way it feels (ultra creamy) and smells (yummy), Color Elixir is my latest go to. There’s something for everyone too. I happen to be partial to lighter shades so Glistening Amber truly hits the spot for me – it enhances your own lip color while adding a touch of alluring sheen in the most perfect way. These glosses feel expensive too, but at less than $10, they’re not. Find them at your local drugstore and dive in. Long live lipgloss!
I’m a sucker for luscious lip balms. Basically any new goodies for the smacker attract my attention. So I did a double take when I spotted the Lip 20 Treatment Collection by Kaplan MD, created by Beverly Hills dermatologist, Dr. Stuart Kaplan. The doctor put a lot of research into this line of lip balms, glosses, liners, and even a mask. The glosses and balms all have SPF 20, are ultra hydrating, are made with 22 organic extracts and lots of other good stuff like Marine Collagen and Seabuckthorn Berry Extract, which are said to have anti-aging benefits. My favorite shades are the neutrals of course, cuz that’s my thing – Clear, Nude and Natural. But if you dig color then the darker shades like Berry and Ruby will definitely tickle your fancy. The Lip 20 Balm is housed in a very clever container too – twist the bottom and the top pops right open on its own. You don’t need to remove it. And then there’s the mask. How fun is this – a mask for your lips! Spread the creamy goodness all over your mouth, leave it on for about 5-10 minutes to plump and exfoliate dry skin. Kaplan MD reports we’ll see “softer, smoother, fuller, lips.” Well, mine definitely feel more va va boomy after using it. Something else to appreciate… all of these beautifying products are free of the stuff we don’t want – Parabens, Sulfates, Petrolatum, Castor Oil, and BPA. Kaplan MD also reports that when using these products the results are “immediate, cumulative and long lasting.” Certainly worth trying, right!?
Raise your hand if you’re big into soft, smoochable lips. They’re definitely high atop my list and that’s why I’m a huge fan of Nivea A Kiss Of Moisture. This blue tube of moisturizing goodness goes on smooth and creamy and feels heavenly. It smells great too – nice and light. Can’t beat the price either – I found it for $2.99 on Drugstore.com. These babies are also sold at tons of pharmacies so it’s easy to get your hands on it quickly. The Nivea Lip Care line is full of other varieties you’ll likely want to try; even one created especially for the guys. But, I promise the guys will be digging A Kiss Of Moisture. Get ready to pucker up, ya’ll!
Lip balm is my thing. I’m very loyal to a few brands and I enjoy checking out new ones to add to my arsenal. I’m also picky — a soft, luxurious, non-sticky texture and a pleasant scent are a must. My latest discovery – Rodial Glam Balm. This one comes in a pot. Normally I prefer a stick since it’s less messy and easier to apply, but I’m so in love with this Glam Balm it doesn’t matter. It has an alluring subtle rose scent and makes my lips feel so luminous, so sultry, so good. The only down side to this stuff…I want to apply it every 10 minutes so I run out quickly. Guess that’s what you call a champagne problem.
